I Stink at Blogging....

but in my defense, I've had a lot of internet issues lately. And I was abducted by aliens... and I had to go to Timbuktu for a family emergency... and my computer exploded, etc. Anywho... here are a couple of layouts:

This page was created for a challenge over at Colorful Creations.  I just stumbled upon this site the other day and excited to have found it. They seem to have tons of challenges and everyone is super friendly.

This page was created for case file # 62 at CSI. I always love the challenges there and ADORED the color scheme in this file. I never would have put those colors together on my own, but I'm glad they motivated me to do it. I loved the result!

Slump City

So I'm going to admit that I've been  in a slump for a while. Everything I worked on just seemed to turn out kind of "blah" to me. I think I've managed to get back on track but I suppose that remains to be seen....

This first layout is a "just because" layout. I guess it's a "just because every challenge/sketch I looked at wasn't working for me so I decided to strike out on my own" kinda layout. Anyway,  here it is (and I'm tickled with it!):
It's one of my favorite pictures I ever took of my little boy. I think I may have scrapped it before, eons ago, actually. The little tag-like-thingies are paint samples. They've been laying on my scrap table since summer, just begging to be used. I did some stitching with my handy-dandy new sewing machine that I bought myself for Christmas. I'm learning to use it but I think it's safe to say I'm no seamstress. lol.

This next layout is for Ashley Horton's January Sketch It Out over at Club CK. I always love her sketches and always worry that I took too much liberty with them. Here's the sketch:

And here's my page:
I wound up loving this layout, too. Thanks for the wonderful sketch, Ashley!

Here's another just because layout. I struggled with this one and I'm still not sure I'm diggin' it, but I'm sick of fooling with it so I guess I'll learn to live with it:

I swear, my little guy has the bluest eyes in the world. The journaling reads: "I have a feeling that a pretty little girl is going to lose her heart to those blue eyes someday."

CSI and Scrapfit Layouts

Just a couple of quick layouts to share. This first one is for the banner challenge at Scrapfit:

I had so much fun experimenting with paint for this one! Sorry for the crummy photo. The weather is not cooperating. I used two textures in my banner, fabric and paper.

This next one was for CSI a week or so ago. I'm just late in posting it. Bad scrapper lady! It was also for Ashley Horton's November Sketch it Out Challenge at Club CK. Loved the sketch!

Busy Busy Busy, the Sequal

Life never seems to slow down now a days. Sheesh! I have been running full speed for quite some time. I will go ahead and admit that I have been indulging my other hobby/obsession a bit lately, too. Here's a crochet piece I just finished:
It's an autumn shawl. It's also Tennessee orange. Maybe I'll wrap up in it and cry when they lose again tonight. Ha! My aunt taught me how to crochet years ago and I recently picked it back up. I think I'm "hooked" again. :)

I did manage to squeeze in two pages this past week. The first one is for this week's CSI challenge:
I adored the color scheme this week. The next one is for Ashley Horton's Sketch it Out challenge for October:

Busy, Busy, Busy

The past few weeks have been soooooooooooooo busy! I have barely had time to blink, much less scrap. I finally found some time today and finished this layout:

This was completed for last week's CSI challenge and a PageMaps contest. I used the color scheme from CSI and the PageMaps sketch. I am in love with the colors. That October Afternoon cloud paper in the background is going to be making plenty of appearances in my layouts for a while, as I'm totally in love with it.

The pictures are of my little guy, who is no longer so little. I was watching him run around and practice soccer kicks on a bouncy ball this summer, thinking "Where did my little one go?!?!?!?!?". He's definitely growing up on me, and Momma is not taking it well. Sniffle.....

CSI Case File 29

Hello everyone. I have a couple of layouts to share. The first is for this week's case file at CSI. The color scheme this week is just beautiful:

I will admit, though, that the pink threw me a bit. Scrapping boy layouts with pink is so tricky. I decided to use the pink as a accent color and keep the amount small. Here's my page:
I had so much fun with this page. When I was at my LSS a few weeks ago, I found some adorable polka dotted felt on clearance. I am absolutely loving it and hope they still have some when I make it back over that way.

My next layout is a just-for-the-fun-of-it page:
Yup, that's wood grain paper... again. I found that in Hobby Lobby the other day and bought it in several colors. I absolutely love that paper and I'm sure I'll use it way too much. :)

Layouts to Share

Hello everyone. I have a few layouts to share. This first one is for CSI case file #27 and also for Scrapfit's Warm Up # 29.  Here's my layout:
I had a ball with this layout. I adored the color scheme from this week's case file and was intrigued by the idea of using a long title. I tend to do short, one or two word titles, so this was different for me. It's titled "Why am I losing teeth? I'm not old!". Journaling reads: "When you started losing teeth you thought you'd need to get false ones like "an old guy". You, my dear, are a mess!"

This next layout was from last week's CSI case file # 26. I struggled with the color scheme but wound up happy with the way it turned out:
